Accountability is the essential step for ensuring the key functions and activities of your business are properly managed and performed.   Your business must be based on you, your employees and the systems of the business being accountable for all actions and results - particularly on the High Payoff Activities and the Key Performance Indicators.

Accountability ensures you have the systems and processes to remain on track and that your back office functions are managed in the most efficient manner.It also ensures the business operator is able to step out of the operational side of the business and concentrate on the most productive and value adding activities.

Reporting must be implemented and used as a means of effectively managing the business and ensuring deviations from benchmarks are identified early and remedial action taken.

A process must be in place to ensure decision making is undertaken in a structured and professional manner.   Too often decision making is ad hoc and based on insufficient or inaccurate information.
