Advice Marketing Strategist

Since 2006 Mark has worked with financial planning practices, small businesses and other professional advisers, to implement Internet marketing and social media strategies. He has a practical and results driven approach that is not focused on the technology but its effectiveness in generating new client leads and communicating with existing clients.

The question often asked by advisers and practice management is “Do I need to invest in on-line marketing and be active on social media?” The short answer is that you need to have a presence where your clients and prospects are. That does not mean on every social media platform, but the ones that are relevant to your target clients.

To obtain a comprehensive FREE report (PDF download) on Internet marketing and social media marketing for financial planners click here. (This document can be used by any business or profession - it uses financial planning examples.) It is not a technology Guide that assumes you have countless free hours to waste on understanding the Internet – it contains practical marketing strategies and tasks.

The Internet is essentially a large number of communities where the majority of your clients and prospects spend some time on a daily or weekly basis. You don’t need to have a marketing strategy for the whole Internet – just where your clients are. The objective is to find where your clients, prospects and referral sources are. For example, I spend a lot of time on Linkedin and Twitter because these are great ways for me to network and find clients. With my coaching clients who have consumer products the focus is on Facebook and Pinterest.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking social media is all about some B grade celebrity talking about what they had for breakfast. It is also more than Search Engine Optimisation and some email promising to get you on the front page of Google.

It is about networking, finding prospects, communicating with existing clients, publishing your expertise, demonstrating your competence, building databases and making sales.

I provide telephone mentoring and face-to-face coaching on this topic as well. To find out more:
